Welcome to the Verner E. Suomi Virtual Museum.

We suggest you begin by clicking the Ask Guide button on the left. Please come back here to the Main Lobby later and read the Dedication to Professor Suomi.

About this Museum
This site is under construction. In the end, it will form the basis of a Virtual museum dedicated to the life's work of Verner E. Suomi -- inventor, mentor, and tinkerer. We hope you will come back and visit us later!

This virtual museum is being developed at The University of Wisconsin-Madison, where Professor Suomi lived and worked. It is a cooperative venture between the National Science Foundation, the Space Science and Engineering Center, and the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies.

Our museum consists of several alcoves.  Each deals with one of the areas that Prof. Suomi was involved in during his career.

In addition, each page will have one or more navigation buttons, like you see on the left.  Here's what they do:

This will always take you to this page - the Main Lobby.
This will take you to the entrance to the alcove you're currently in.
Press this to get more information about where you are and what you're seeing.
In science, most topics are related to others.  Press this button to learn more.
When you're ready to leave, press this button.
